Leadership Program

Leadership

Leadership TEAM is the entry point for students into PEAK Adventures’ youth development program that stretches from age 13 to age 18 (seventh grade through twelfth grade).  We partner with middle schools that draw students from underserved communities in Greensboro and High Point,

The focus of Leadership TEAM is the concept of “I Can Lead Myself Well”.  Young teens can grasp this concept because they know if they do it well and they know if they fail.  This is the overarching goal for every student in Leadership TEAM.  Students are taught basic self-leadership skills through high energy experiential activities, with ample debriefings and discussions.  We measure progress through the “3A’s”: academics, attitude and assets.  We look for steady academic progress, we assess attitudes through discussions with parents and teachers and we develop key self-leadership assets (self-control, self-discipline, self-respect, hard work, perseverance, resourcefulness and honesty).

Leadership TEAM is designed to develop healthy elationships between students and adult leaders and between students in the program.  Teamwork is stressed and in many cases Leadership TEAM is the only team that any of the students will participate in.

Right Start Mentoring focuses on four areas:
